POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (February 7, 2023) Hudson Valley Economic Development Corp. (HVEDC) is pleased to announce the addition of Tony Marmo, President of Normann Staffing, to the HVEDC Board of Directors.
It took Tony Marmo 35 years to go full circle. In 1980, as The Kingston Hospital human resources director, Tony became one of the first clients of the professional employment agency that he would acquire in May 2014. During the in-between decades, Tony moved through various executive roles at the hospital, most notably as its President and CEO for nine years until 2003.
He began his healthcare career in 1977 at St. Lukes Hospital in Newburgh, N.Y. Tony has been President and CEO of Kingston Regional Healthcare System; CEO of Margaretville Hospital; Licensed Nursing Home Administrator for the Northeast Center for Special Care, Lake Katrine, N.Y.; the Diamond Hill Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Troy, N.Y. and Care One at Ridgewood Avenue, Paramus, N.J, and currently at Woodland Pond in New Paltz.
In May 2014, Tony purchased the Hudson Valley’s premier staffing agency from founders Rob and Lorraine Normann. “From the beginning of my career, I developed a good idea of what employment agency clients are looking for. Normann Staffing has long met their needs, and we continue to do so. We know how crucial people are for long term success . Any business is only as good as the staff providing services.”
Tony brings deep civic and community connections to HVEDC. In addition to being a co-founder of the recently created economic development board, Ulster Strong, Tony co-founded the Ulster County Italian American Foundation. He currently serves as the Chair of the Ulster County Workforce Development Board. He is a member of the Kingston Rotary Club and served as Past District Governor for the Hudson Valley region known as District 7210. He previously served as the Board Chair of the Ulster County Regional Chamber of Commerce, and on the Boards of the YMCA of Kingston & Ulster County, Junior Achievement in Ulster County, American Cancer Society and the American Heart Association.
