Job Qualifications:

The Payroll & Billing Bookkeeper is responsible for processing payroll and client billing on a weekly basis and completing all tasks related to payroll and billing as well as providing general bookkeeping support to the back office and Business Manager.

Schedule and Pay:

  • Hours: 24 hours/week:  Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am-5pm with some flexibility.
  • Benefits:  Paid holidays and vacation time
  • Salary:  Based on experience, and includes performance bonuses

Job Description:

Job Duties:

  • Process weekly payroll for all employees, internal and temporary including checking timecards for accuracy and communicate with employees as needed to address and resolve issues.
  • Process weekly billing for clients
  • Run Weekly and Monthly reports
  • Make weekly Federal and State tax deposits
  • Post Cash Receipts
  • Track and process employee vacation and holiday pay
  • Manage A/R and make collection efforts weekly
  • Make General Journal entries in QuickBooks
  • Prepare and post daily bank deposits
  • Reconcile payroll bank accounts
  • Assist with A/P as needed
  • Assist with quarterly payroll taxes as needed
  • Assist with various bookkeeping tasks

Our small, Kingston based company has been in business for over 40 years and offers employees a safe and supportive team environment.  We have a small staff and have made our employees’ safety and security a priority during the pandemic.  This job requires no in-person interaction with the public and our small staff and separate offices make social distancing easy.  If you are a team player who is detail oriented, has an aptitude for bookkeeping, numbers and enjoys challenges this could be the job for you.  This position is part-time, 24 hours a week and offer some flexibility and room for growth.  Some prior bookkeeping experience is required, but we are willing to train the right candidate.
