Job Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in accounting / bookkeeping, preferably in non-profits
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in working up budgets
  • Four-year degree in relevant field preferred
  • Human resources experience in terms of benefits provision and basics of labor laws
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks, Excel and other Microsoft Office software
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to pay attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
  • Capacity to be fluid in a fast-paced work environment
  • Enthusiasm for working in a highly collaborative environment
  • Willingness to be available — on rare but important occasions — on some nights and weekends for deadline-related work

Job Description:

The Accounts Manager reports to the Managing Director and works closely with the Executive Director and other senior staff members on budgeting, tracking, reporting, and the administration of some human resources duties.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and prepare monthly reporting package for management and Board of Directors
  • Maintain general ledger and reconcile balance sheet accounts & fixed assets
  • Monitor cash flow & capital projects
  • File quarterly state sales tax returns
  • Bi-weekly payroll processing and quarterly payroll reporting to federal and state agencies, in coordination with payroll processing vendor ADP
  • Bank and credit card account reconciliations
  • Manage receivables, payables, and cash receipts processing
  • Coordinate administrative aspects of human resources such as benefits and onboarding
  • Manage inventory processes and procedures
  • Prepare recurring and real-time financial reports Assist with financial analysis and operating budgets Coordinate year-end tax and audit preparation Handle worker's comp and other insurance claims Assist in the formation and execution of financial policies and procedures that reflect best practices and sound security
